Honour killing: Kanataka woman, Rajasthan man found burnt to death

Synopsis

In a suspected honour killing, police in Rajasthan on Wednesday found half-burnt dead bodies of a Karnataka woman and local native believed to be her husband.

The bodies were found separate places in Rajasthan's Sirohi area on Wednesday.

Kalu Ram Chaudhary and the unidentified woman were found dead in Anadara and Revdar areas respectively yesterday, police said today.

According to the police, Chaudhary belonged to a local village and had an affair with the woman from Karnataka where he worked as a labourer. He married her some time ago.

"Both of them were strangulated to death and their faces were burnt to hide identity and the bodies were dumped separately," Additional SP Prerna Shekhawat said.

"Identification of the man has been done while efforts are on to verify the identity of the woman, who is most likely his wife," Shekhawat said.

Postmortem of the bodies is being conducted and the matter is being investigated, she added.
