SM Krishna will join BJP, says Yeddyurappa

Synopsis

BJP Karnataka President BS Yeddyurappa announced that veteran leader SM Krishna will join BJP Krishna is yet to make an official announcement in this regard Krishna had quit Congress Party, last week after 46 years

The 84-year-old veteran leader has quit Congress, alleging that there was no value for seniority in the party. Though asked repeatedly, he refused to comment on his next plan and had only said that he is not retiring from politics. BJP was trying hard to get him to join the party from the day Krishna announced his decision to quit Congress.

BJP state President Yeddyurappa had made trips to Delhi to convince the national leaders of the benefits of bringing Krishna into the party. Thus with the official announcement made by Yeddyurappa, Krishna's next move has become clear.

However, in Karnataka veteran Congress leaders have become a regular event as recently, ex-minister Srinivas Prasad also had joined BJP. He was in Congress for more than two decades. However, official confirmation by SM Krishna on his joining BJP is yet to come.

This is surprising that the politicians who spend decades in criticising the ideology and principle of the opposition parties waste no time in joining the party they hated all their lives, just with the prospect of a ticket or a post.

Thus Krishna who accused the BJP of their communal intentions for more than 40 years will not be supporting their idea and principles. But neither the BJP nor Krishna have made it clear what made Krishna agree to join the party. There are speculations that BJP might offer Krishna the post of President.

As of now, Yeddyurappa has reportedly said that Krishna will be joining the party without any conditions. Nowadays especially the senior leaders are giving serious ideas that politicians do not have any principles. Just like an employee works in the interest of the company and has to change the preferences and interests while joining the other company, politicians change their way of thinking as they change parties.
