‘Jayalalithaa to be blamed for jallikattu ban’

MK Stalin wants the restoration of Tamil Nadu's traditional sport - jallikattu He has blamed Jayalalithaa for not following the guidelines given by the court and losing out on TN's traditional sport

Stalin emphasised on the restoration and continuation of Tamil Nadu’s traditional sport – jallikattu at a protest meet organised near Madurai. He also blamed the Central government of not respecting the sentiments and cultural rights of Tamilians.

Stalin went on to add that the DMK government followed apex court’s orders to the t and had successfully organised the bull fighting sport under the guidance of Karunanidhi. However, after Jayalalithaa took charge the guidelines were not followed and thus the traditional sport had to be banned.

The opposition leader has also urged the Modi govt not only to pass an ordinance but also lift the ban on the sport.
