Athlete Samir Ait Said who suffered a leg injury during artistic gymnastics at the Rio Olympics has gained compassion across the world. But here is an international athlete in Karnataka, who met with similar accident 6 years ago and who is completely condemned.
He had a dream to participate in Olympics and win a gold medal for the nation. But today he is bed-ridden; he has to depend on his family members even for his day-to-day requirements and move with the help of a wheel chair.
The stem cell treatment performed by a team of doctors of HCG foundation has helped heal the gymnast’s cervical vertebrae.
Anantha Rao, a resident of Mysuru, was an international Gymnast. He had participated in 2010 Dasara Athletic meet. In the floor exercise event he landed his neck while performing the work and had a severe neck injury. Thus his sports career is now almost bleak. However, Anantha Rao has not lost his confidence, he says he’ll participate in the next Olympics which is scheduled to be held in Tokyo in 2010 and win a gold medal for India.
Today he is seeking for a job in order to live an independent life. But the government even after 6 years has not given any compensation or extended any help.
