At the inauguration ceremony, Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B Lokur said that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were the first two states in the country to be chosen for Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project.

The same system will be implemented in Supreme Court as well, the judge said.

He added, "One of the reasons to launch the ICJS was to integrate police stations with the courts, jails, the prosecution and the forensic science laboratories. "

The e-court will provide an electronic case list to judges who can make digital notes on the computer. The case records and notes will be available in the e-court's database. Lawyers, judges and petitioners can access these digitalised files. The court display board will be updated as per the court proceedings.

Also, advocates will receive SMS alerts on their cases.

Computer Committee of the High Court member Justice P. Naveen Rao will be presiding over the e-court starting today.
