The Hosdurg police have registered a case against firebrand speaker KP Sasikala of Hindu Aikya Vedi for her controversial speeches that allegedly spit venom against other religions and communities.
In his complaint, C Shukkur, public prosecutor of Kasargod, alleged that Sasikala's speeches were anti-secular in nature and disturbed communal harmony.
The complaint was submitted to Kasaragod district police chief Thomson Jose a few days back. Sasikala has been booked under Section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion or race and for disrupting harmony.
The complainant also pointed out that the Aikya Vedi leader's speeches were widely circulated on social media which could have led to communal discord. Video tapes of the speeches were also handed over to the police along with the complaint.
It is not the first time Hindu Aikya Vedi leader had invited trouble for herself. Sasikala landed in soup a few months back when she said Onam was an occasion to worship Vamana (incarnation of Vishnu) who freed Kerala from King Mahabali. Sasikala was condemned widely for distorting the popular myth of Onam in the interest of Sangh Parivar.
