Karnataka gives DySp Handibag’s wife a job, compensation

DySP Kallappa Handibag had committed suicide after his name appeared in a kidnap case and he was accused of stealing the ransom paid in that kidnapping.

The probe of the case was handed over to the CID as the suspects included several influential names.

However, the interim report from the CID stated that Handibag was not involved in the kidnapping and was wholly innocent. The report suggested that he had committed suicide over the shame of being accused, and not because he was guilty of any illegal act.

Thus, as compensation, the Karnataka state government has provided employment to Handibag’s wife in the ‘C’ group.
