Anupama Shenoy had tendered her resignation letter as the DySP of Koodligi on June 5, alleging that she had been harassed and threatened by a few political leaders and police top brass.

After waging protracted war of words against her alleged harassers on social media platforms and amidst speculations of her joining a political party, Anupama seems to hav decided to re-join her position as DySP.

Sources said that Anupama had written to chief minister Siddaramaiah about her decision to withdraw her resignation letter on August 29. Later, the chief minister had a telephone conversation with Anupama in this regard.

“I tried to explain the problems in the police system and how it leads to injustice. The CM told me about the challenges people have to take up even as the people’s representative,” Anupama told the media.

Interestingly, as a popular officer, there was widespread opposition to Anupama resigning in the first place. At the time, she had garnered strong support from people of all walks of life in Karnataka.

“My resignation letter was accepted within five days of submitting it. But there has been no positive response yet about the letter to withdraw the resignation. The chief minister had said 'Let us see' while talking over the phone,” Anupama said.

“As most people were against my decision to resign, I have decided to re-join my duties,” she added.
