Synopsis

Hasiru Mission, in Malleswaram, is making an effort to teach the elderlies about the various methods of digital transaction. They will also host a free session for street vendors as well as maids about cashless transactions.

Needless to say that demonetisation has led to many troubles including cash crunch, going digital, and indefinitely limit on cash withdrawal. The segment of the society that is especially struggling to adopt the digital transaction economy is the elderlies who are used to the cash transactions.

However, a group of youths under the name Hasiru Mission, in Malleswaram, is making an effort to teach the elderlies about the various methods of digital transaction that includes online banking, use of e-wallets, and mobile banking.

The free session was held on a weekend in which the elderlies learned about non-smart phone methods of digital transactions using UPI and AEPS. This session also had lessons about using Gmail accounts, using prepaid and debit cards, and also how to use popular e-wallet Paytm.

The elderlies found the session helpful and encouraging to use digital transactions

One of the trustees of this Mission, Shivakumar H, pointed out that many people do not have smartphones and among them many are elderlies. Also, the autorickshaw drivers and street vendors can't afford swiping machines for them Mobile Money Identifier (MMID), Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and Aad haar-enabled Payment System (AEPS) should be the way of life now.

The Hasiru Mission will also host a free session for street vendors as well as maids about cashless transactions.
