District sessions court to hear DySP Ganapathy suicide case

Synopsis

After a series of accusations and word-wars, the hearing of the DySP MK Ganapathy suicide case will be held today at the district sessions court in Madikeri.

Ganapathy's wife Pavana and son Nehal had filed a petition against Bengaluru Development and Town Planning minister KJ George.

The police initially refused to file the complaint citing that the Central Bureau of Investigation had taken over the case.

Challenging this move, Ganapathy's family filed a petition holding the minister responsible for the policeman's death.

In the hearing which will be held today, if the court instructs the police to file a First Information report (FIR) against the minister then KJ George would have to resign.

The government is likely to take a decision based on the court judgement.
