  • Perhaps, the demand for Rahul Gandhi's resignation from the Congress leadership was never so loud and clear.

"Respected Rahul Gandhi, If you are not interested in leading from the front, please stay away(from leadership)," said Youth Congress State Vice President CR Mahesh, giving voice to the simmering discontent in the Congress against the party high command after the Uttar Pradesh drubbing.

Perhaps, the demand for Rahul Gandhi's resignation from the Congress leadership was never so loud and clear. "The attitude of the Congress leadership reminds the emperor who played fiddle when Rome was burning," the Youth Congress leader wrote on his Facebook page.  You should open your eyes and understand what's happening to the party which was once rooted wide and deep across the country, he urged Rahul Gandhi.

He also slammed the Congress Working Committee member and senior leader AK Antony for keeping silent on the issues plaguing the party in the state.

It has been two weeks since the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president resigned. The party has not managed to find a replacement. Congress, which should be leading strong public agitation against anti-people policies of centre and state governments now, is in utter confusion. People who love the Congress party are deeply pained, the Youth Congress leader lamented.

The party, as well as its youth wing and students' organisation, KSU, are riddled with factionalism. The organisational elections being held in the KSU only worsened the group war within, he opined.
