The Hubballi-Dharwad Police have cracked the Yogesh Gowda murder case after scrubbing through CCTV footage.
The police have identified and arrested the five accused in the BJP leader’s murder case. The police were able to nab the culprits, Basavaraja Shivappa Muttagi of Dharwad, Vinayak Basavaraj Kadagi of Dharwad, Vikram Udaykumar of Ballari, Sandeep alias Sandy Somashekhar of Saudatti and Keerti Kumar Basavaraja Kurahatti of Itigatti, at the Kalaghatagi Bypass Road with the help of a mobile tracking device.
At a press meet today Panduranga Rane, Commissioner of Police at Dharwad confirmed that the accused have accepted their crimes.
Yogesh Gowda was allegedly murdered due to some land issue. He is said to have had a running fued with Basavaraja Muttagi.

During the investigation Basavaraja Muttagi confessed to the police that Yogesh Gowda had been threatening him and forcing him to withdraw from the land deal, so he (Muttagi) plotted to murder him (Gowda).
The CCTV footages revealed the entire plot of murder
7.36 a.m.: Accused 1, wearing a red jacket was seen pacing around waiting for Yogesh Gowda to arrive.
7.36 a.m.: Accused 2 arrives wearing a blue jerkin and monkey cap.
7.36 a.m.: Yogesh Gowda seen pulling into the driveway in an Innova (MUV).
7.36 a.m.: Accused 2 looks into the car, confirms that Yogesh Gowda is alone in his car and signals Accused 1.
6) 7.36 a.m.: Contracted killers arrive at the spot in an SUV.
7.37 a.m.: A1 and A2 are seen rushing towards the car.
(The assassination happens within 1 minute)
7.37 a.m.: A second SUV pulls into the spot (the police have confirmed that this SUV also belongs to the murderers.)
7.38 a.m.: Soon after the assassination, the murderers are seen running away from the spot, one of them is seen carrying a kit containing deadly weapons.
7.38 a.m.: Some more assassins are seen escaping in a car.
7.38 a.m.: Two more henchmen are seen fleeing on a scooter
7.38 a.m.: People are seen watching the dead body of Yogesh Gowda.
