Kerala can never forget the 35th edition of the National Games where it had bagged 162 medals including 54 golds. But Kerala has definitely forgotten its athletes who had brought laurels for the state.

Buoyed by the performance of its sports stars, the United Democratic Front (UDF) government had announced jobs to all the medalists.

Though the UDF government had shortlisted 72 names eligible for jobs in various departments, officials cited technical reasons to deny jobs for Elizabeth Susan Koshi, Sajan Prakash, Anu Raghavan and Anilda Thomas.

Following Asianet News report last month Koshi and Prakash were offered jobs with gazetted rank. But Raghavan and Thomas are still awaiting their appoinment order, which is delayed by officials in the name of technical reasons.

Both players say they are tired of frequently taking rounds of government offices and pleading for jobs.

"Our only hope is that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would consider our case also and take the necessary steps to give the promised jobs", said athlete Anilda Thomas.
