Police have taken Mithun, hailing from Marad in Kozhikode, who allegedly sold his newborn baby to a childless couple. According to police, Mithun confessed that he sold his child out of poverty. He has two children besides the infant.
Relatives of Mithun and his wife Reshma told Asianet News that the family was in financial troubles and that the man refused to take care of the newborn.
