Six of a family perish in car crash at Kasargod

Six persons of a family, including a toddler, met with a tragic death in a road mishap at Pallikkara near Bekal in Kasargod on Monday evening.
The deceased are identified as Sakeena, 39, wife of Uppu Hameed, a resident of Mukkod in Kasargod and her close relatives. Her son Sajeer, 18, Sanira, 16 are among the dead. Sakeena's sister in law Khairunneesa and the latter's two-year-old daughter Fathima also got killed in the fatal accident. The other victim is identified as Sakeena's daughter in law Ramseena,19.
The car travelled by the family apparently lost control and hit a tree near Pllikkara in Kasargod around 6.30 pm on Monday. Irshad,19, got seriously injured in the incident and is under treatment in a hospital in Mangalore. Two children, below five years old, escaped with minor injuries.
