The day broke on Monday with the news of a tragedy as a bus rammed into a motor cycle and a car in the wee hours at Varappuzha in Kochi, crushing four persons, including two students of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to death. The condition of two girls injured in the accident is critical.
As per preliminary reports, the bus lost control and hit a motorbike and then rammed into the car at around 2 am. The deceased are identified as Harishankar, 27, Kiran 25, Akshay, 24 and Jijeesha, 24.
Harishankar and Kiran, employees of Info Park, Kochi, whose bike was completely damaged in the accident, died on the spot. Two others killed in the mishap are students of CUSAT.
The condition of two girls injured in the accident is reported to be critical. Police assume that the driver of the bus must have dozed off, causing the tragedy.
