Bengaluru Metro fares to go up soon

Synopsis

Metro fares to be raised after the completion of the first phase of work Sources say the hike is due to the rise in price of electricity

The Bengaluru Metro Regional Corporation will hike ticket rates after the completion of work on the first phase of the Metro. The work is expected to complete by December this year.

Currently the Metro is plying between Byappanahalli – Mysuru Road and Sampige Road – Nagasandra.

In the Byappanahalli route some 1.35 lakh people travel everyday and in the Nagasandra route 45,000 commuters travel in the Metro daily. The BMRCL has not raised the ticket price since its commencement of service in May.

Sources say the hike is due to the rise in price of electricity and other related services.
