Bank employee stabs self, smears chilli powder to feign robbery

Synopsis

 

A few days ago, it was reported that a Kotak Mahindra Bank employee was attacked by gangsters at Kesarahatti village in Koppal district who  looted ₹10 lakh.

 

The investigation of the case opened new doors when the police found that the attack was planned by the same employee of the bank. Bank recovery officer Mallikarjun Sajjan was arrested in connection to the robbery and the police have recovered a sum of ₹10.74 lakh which he had stashed in a farm yard. 

 

Sajjan had earlier given a statement to Gangavati village police station that he was attacked by the robbers who threw chilli powder on his face and stabbed him.

 

According to the police, Sajjan stabbed himself and then smeared his face with chilli powder. Seeing an injured man, the villagers called for an ambulance and admitted him in a government hospital.

 

It was alleged that the doctors expressed their doubts about the nature of the injuries and informed the same to the police.
