Female bank official dies after getting shot by guard
Synopsis
An employee of IDBI bank at Thalasserry died on the spot after she got 'accidentally' shot by a security guard on Thursday morning.
The victim is identified as Vilna Vinod, 25, from Punol near Thalassery. The gun carried by the guard accidentally went off and hit the employee on her head, killing her instantly. The incident took place as soon as the bank began its business on Thursday morning.
Police have taken security personnel Hareendran into custody and registered a case. Primary reports suggest that he was cleaning the gun when it accidentally went off. The officials are yet to ascertain whether it was an accident or intentional.
The dead body of the victim has been shifted to Thalassery Co-operative Hospital.
