Huge rats invade Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru

Synopsis

Bandicoots (huge rats) attack the beds making even the severely ill patients jump off their bed in Victoria Hospital Medical Inspector of Victoria Hospital, Dr Durgappa, refused to comment on the issue

It looks like the patients in Victoria Hospital are more scared of being infected with diseases than getting a cure for what they are suffering from. Doctors might forget to visit the wards, but rats and bandicoots (huge rats) have become the regular visitors here.

Especially at night, these bandicoots attack the beds making even the severely ill patients jump off their bed, now and then.

Even repeated complaints against the cleanliness issue in the hospital did not bear any fruit so far. When Suvarna News tried to contact Medical Inspector of Victoria Hospital, Dr Durgappa, he refused to comment on the issue.

Every year, the government releases lakhs of rupees for the maintenance of the hospital. But details of the expenditure are not available.

Recently, it can be noted that rats were found in the Vidhana Soudha, the place which is the centre of administration and political activities.
