Assault on actress: Police likely to question film industry players

Synopsis

The investigators are not taking any chance and would be questioning some of the industry players in connection with the incident.

In a bid to crack the conspiracy angle in the abduction of popular Malayalam actress, the investigators are likely to question some players in the film industry too.  The investigation team is probing whether the goondas involved were hired by somebody else and it has collected the phone call details of Pulsar Suni, the key suspect in the case.

The police have collected three months' call data of the suspect and some of the calls on the day of the attack on the actress might be lead to a crucial breakthrough in the case, the investigators feel. Hence the investigators are not taking any chance and would be questioning some of the industry players in connection with the incident. All kinds of rumours are doing rounds, and some even allege complicity of producers and actors in the disturbing incident.

Meanwhile, former Minister and actor K B Ganeshkumar alleged that the rivalry among organisations in the film industry was behind the assault on the actress. Many in the film fraternity are under the grip of drug and criminal mafia, he told Asianet News.

"Film industry players should be blamed for promoting goondas. Many producers, actors and actresses have financial deals with these criminals," Ganeshkumar said.
