Actress in distress: Producer reveals truth behind 'suspicious' phone call

Synopsis

Reports quoting police sources had put 'the eminent producer under the scanner.'

After coming under the shadow of suspicion for making a phone call to Pulsar Suni, the key suspect in the assault on Mollywood actress, Anto Joseph, famous film producer, has revealed the truth behind the call.

Anto Joseph stated that he had called Pulsar Suni. But that was in the presence of Assistant Police Commissioner and other officials.
This is what Anto Joseph said about the controversy:

"On that night, actor Lal called me. But I didn't notice it because the phone was in silent mode. Later actor-director Ranji Panicker called me and asked me to contact Lal and reach his home immediately. On my way to Lal's house in Kochi, Congress MLA PT Thomas also joined me.

Assistant Commissioner and Martin (driver of the actress, who was later taken into custody in connection with the abduction) were present at Lal's house. I collected Suni's number from Martin and called him twice. He did not pick up the call. But later he called me back. When I introduced myself, he cut the phone without answering. Police asked me to call him again. This time, I handed over the phone to Assistant Commissioner when it started ringing. When the officer said hello, Suni cut the call again. But this conversation helped the police to locate the tower location of the Suni.

It is very painful that the phone call was widely misinterpreted. "

Reports quoting police sources had put 'the eminent producer under the scanner,' over the phone call while some speculated that the producer called the key suspect just a few minutes before the abduction.
