After Modi's BHIM, Kerala plans multi-platform mobile app

Synopsis

Kerala IT Mission, the nodal agency for e-Governance implementation for the State, is developing the mobile app. It would also function as a mobile wallet. 

 

After Central government's Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) App, Kerala is also planning to launch its multi-platform mobile app which would make transactions with government departments and access to services much easier. It would also function as a mobile wallet. 

 

The app, which is being developed by Kerala IT Mission, the nodal agency for e-Governance implementation for the State, will have features to remit taxes and fees to various government offices and PSUs. 


The mission clarifies that the multi-platform mobile application which can bring all citizen-centric e-governance services from all State Departments, PSUs, autonomous institutions and central agencies through a single mobile channel. 

 

The principal aim of the unified mobile application project is 'to empower citizens of Kerala for all kinds of interactions and services with the state government in a fast, seamless and cost-effective manner.' 

 

Besides allowing transactions using debit or credit card or internet banking facility, It also offers an e-wallet facility.  The mission also invited public to submit logo, name and tagline and announced a cash prize of  Rs. 15,000.
