KEA will conduct examinations for various posts in Namma Metro on Sunday. The first phase of Metro work will be completed in the next year, and it will be operational by April. The staff is being hired to work at the North-South corridor.
For 11 posts of section engineers, a total of 9,638 hopefuls have come forward to write the examination. Out of the total number, 876 are engineers, said General Manager of BMRCL Human Resource Department, Hariswamy.
For the 225 post of ticketing officers, 25,890 applications have been filed and for 72 positions of conductors, 18,296 applications have been filed.
Examinations will be held at Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi and Kalaburagi, said Information Technology Division Manager Ranganath P Deshpande.
This is the sixth round of appointments being held for Bengaluru Metro Railway Corporation Limited. Though candidates from other states can also write examinations, the rule says those appearing for exams need to know to read and write Kannada.
