The latest: ED seizes ₹93 lakh in new currency

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at many places in Bengaluru and has seized around ₹ 93 lakh in new currency notes. The ED has arrested seven middlemen who were involved in currency exchange scam on 15% - 35% commission basis. It is alleged that the middlemen had some links with the bank officials.

Karnataka IT raid: ₹5.7cr in new notes seized from bathroom safe

An unidentified hawala operator in Chitradurga, Karnataka was caught with a large cash haul of ₹5.7 crore and that too in new currency ₹2000 notes! The place where the cash stash was hidden was pretty well disguised – in the man’s bathroom

Massive 'black-to-white' scheme busted, ₹50 lakh confiscated

Bengaluru's Kalasipalya police have arrested a group of traders who were 'converting' black money to white on a 30% commission basis. The operation was simple - if you gave them one lakh in old notes, they would give you ₹70,000 in new currencies - no questions asked. Three people have been arrested, and the police have confiscated ₹50 lakh from them.

Karnataka CM’s aides caught with ₹4.5 crore new notes

The IT sleuths conducted a raid on the residents of close aides of Minister C Mahadevappa- Jayachandra and Chikkarayappa. The officers were surprised to find the new ₹2000 notes to the tune of ₹4.5 crore.

In Congress-ruled Karnataka, black money flows in abundance

In two separate incidences in Bailoor Village and Chikkamagaluru of Karnataka 6 people were caught with ₹71 lakh and ₹46 lakh in undocumented new ₹2000 currency notes, respectively.
