400 bottles of alcohol seized in Tamil Nadu on Mahaveer Jayanti
Synopsis
Nearly 400 bottles of liquor worth Rs 21,000 was seized by election officials from the state-run TASMAC liquor shops in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti day.
Based on a complaint, election officials conducted a raid in Chokkanur seized 230 alcohol bottles and Rs 20,175 in cash.
Similarly, 84 liquor bottles and Rs 750 in cash were seized at two areas in Pollachi, official sources said.
The department, with the help of police, seized 60 bottles from two places in Ramanathapuram and Puliyakulam.
