Kempegowda awards: Insult to Bengaluru founder, awardees?

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's much-hyped and delayed Kempegowda awards function ended up on a bad note as many awardees were sent back without mementos. The goof-up in the list and arrangements led people to major chaos and commotion.  Few awardees were seen fighting to get the seat while receiving the honour. This is like an insult to Kempegowda and the deserving awardees, they alleged. Sources in BBMP said that, since it was coalition government, the official award lift from 240 went up to 500, as many MLAs also wanted to award people known to them, hence the confusion.
