Coronavirus lockdown: Bengaluru residents feed 500 slum dwellers every day

Bengaluru: As the coronavirus lockdown has left the poor and vulnerable a lot more worried with respect to finding food, residents of LB S Nagar in Bengaluru pooled in resources to prepare fresh food and distribute it among 500 slum dwellers in nearby areas. 

Hassan, a local leader and his friends, took the initiative to cook and serve fresh food. They believe that the public should also do their bit, take the initiative, instead of leaving the onus on the government alone.
