The BJP has released its first list of 72 candidates for the Karnataka legislative assembly elections, after a meeting of leaders presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP has released its first list of 72 candidates for the Karnataka legislative assembly elections, after a meeting of leaders presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting started at 6.30 pm and went on for 4 hours and the first list was finalised.

The State BJP leaders had arrived at New Delhi with 110 names but those names were cross-checked with the list prepared by senior leaders and submitted to Amit Shah and national coordinating secretary Ramalal.  Only the names that were present in both the lists were given the green signal.

According to the list BJP State president, B S Yeddyurappa will contest from Shikaripura. Malikayya Guttedar will contest from Afzhalpur and Mallikarjuna Khuba from Basavakalyana.
