The Dubai Police on Sunday inducted an intelligent robotic police officer who is also compatible with pedestrians and tourists in the city. It was inducted at the opening of the 4th Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC). 170 centimeters in height and weighing 100 kilograms, the cop is equipped with emotion detector that can identify gestures and expressions on people's faces and act and react according to that.

While patrolling the streets, the cop will use intelligent technology like the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and the latest Smart Technologies. It will also use the facial recognition software to recognise habitual offenders or wanted criminals. It can also stream live feeds to Dubai's command room. Speaking to the media, Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razouqi, General Director of the Smart Services Department at Dubai Police, said, "With an aim to assist and help people in the malls or on the streets, the robocop is the latest smart addition to the force and has been designed to help us fight crime, keep the city safe and improve happiness levels."

We are aiming to implement many smart police mechanisms, including the smart police station and robots, and adopt artificial intelligence. Presently, the robot will be patrolling the halls of GISEC until Tuesday before he is introduced to public. The cop also has abilities to complete smart police services and people can use their credit cards for payments. The Robot's integrated system will also have direct links with various social media platforms, such as Twitter among others.
