As per experts, the technology aims to create rain more efficiently within clouds and in the process, it triggers more water to come down.

Like India and Canada, Dubai is also witnessing extreme heatwaves to the extent that the temperatures have surpassed 50 degrees celsius at a point. To beat the heat, the United Arab Emirates' National Center of Meteorology came up with a solution that resulted in a monsoon-like rainfall. It is created using drone technology known as cloud seeding, media reported.

This technology gives clouds an electric shock that makes them clump together to produce precipitation. Each year, the average precipitation in the country measures just 100mm.
The official Twitter handle of the National Center of Meteorology shared the video of the rain.

According to various media reports, this technique is preferred over other methods of cloud seeding as it uses electricity to cause rain rather than chemicals. Rainmaking is becoming common in dry places such as the UAE, where each year about four inches of rain is recorded.

As per experts, the technology aims to create rain more efficiently within clouds and in the process, it triggers more water to come down. They suggest cloud seeding methods can help in alleviating the water problem.
