The three-year-old went missing on October 7 and according to the father the child vanished from outside their house around 3 am in the morning. Wesley admitted that he had put the child outside as punishment for refusing to drink milk at 3 am.
The toddler was adopted from an orphanage in Bihar, and she was in need of special care. Police took Wesley to custody but was released on bond.
The FBI has so far seized nearly 50 items including the cellphones, laptops, a dryer and a washer from Sherin's house.
Though local people held a vigil for the safe return of the girl, the parents are not cooperating with the investigation, says police.
