Women's Collective in Cinema (WCC), the association of female artists and technicians in Malayalam film industry, has decided to file a complaint against MLA K B Ganeshkumar to Assembly Speaker. This is after Ganesh Kumar's statement seeking support for Dileep, who is remanded in actress attack case. 

The WCC finds that by making a statement supporting the accused in the case, Ganesh Kumar violated the rights of a legislator. They also feel that the statement was a planned one with the intention to mislead the investigation.

Director Vidhu Vincent, who is a member of WCC, came out against the remark made by the legislator and said that his statement was unmindful of the police or the legal system in the state. 

Even the police had approached court against Ganesh Kumar's statement saying that it was a planned attempt to influence witnesses. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) wanted the court to book a Suo Motu case against the MLA.

The WCC had launched a signature campaign before the venue of Kerala State Film Awards. The campaign titled 'Avalkkoppam' meaning with her. The campaign aimed to gather public support for the assaulted actress.
