Seven persons set out for fishing on Sunday without obtaining permission and the coracle capsized around 11.30 pm Kozhikode natives Sachin, Binu, Melvin and localite Wilson have been reported missing The search was called off on Monday evening due to bad light but will resume tomorrow

Four persons are feared to have drowned after the coracle in which they were fishing near Banasura Sagar dam in Wayanad capsised due to bad weather on Sunday night.

The police said seven persons set out for fishing on Sunday without obtaining permission and the coracle capsised around 11.30 pm. Three of them swam to safety, while the other four are missing.

Kozhikode natives Sachin, Binu, Melvin and localite Wilson have been reported missing.

The police launched a search for the missing persons on Monday. The search was called off in the evening due to bad light but will resume tomorrow. 

The services of naval divers have been requisitioned and they are expected to arrive on Tuesday, the police said.
