Perumbalam BJP panchayat committee president Ajayan was arrested and produced before the Cherthala court. He was let out on bail.
The woman had complained that she caught Ajayan filming her in the bathroom on March 10. The local BJP leader, who was absconding, was arrested and charged under the IT act on Thursday.
"The arrest was made after the police probed the complaint and found out that the accused was involved," Circle Inspector VP Mohanlal said.
Meanwhile, the local BJP leadership dismissed the incident as a fabricated story.
