Police to summon actress Rima Kallingal for naming assaulted actress on Facebook

Kerala police are planning to summon actress Rima Kallingal to police station based on a complaint that she revealed the name of the assaulted actress in social media. The complaint was filed by Abdulla Sayani, a native of Binanipuram, Aluva.

Rima had posted a signed message of the assaulted actress on July 13. However, she removed the signature later and made a repost after people pointed the error.

 

The actress is likely to be charged under Section 228 (A) of the IPC which invites imprisonment up to two years. 

Rima is the third person to court controversy by naming the actress. Earlier, cases were booked against actor Kamal Hassan and Aju Varghese for naming the assaulted actress in public. 

Script writer S N Swamy was also accused of saying the name of the actress during a debate on a television channel.
