Puthuvype incident: JNU students burn Pinarayi Vijayan in effigy

Synopsis

The students were protesting against police action in Puthuvype They burned in effigy of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan They also said that Pinarayi is trying to implement Modi's development model

The protest against IOC plant in Puthuvype even reached Jawaharlal Nehru University. The students burned in effigy of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. 

What makes it interesting is that JNU, which is popularly known as left-oriented were protesting against the police controlled by a CPM Chief Minister. They also said that Pinarayi is trying to implement the development model that Modi tried in Gujarat.

The students were protesting against the police action in Puthuvype, where 23 persons were injured in lathi charge. National Students' Union of India (NSUI) also said that they would strongly oppose the fascist policies of Pinarayi government.
