Actress attack: These scientific methods helped police collect evidence against Dileep

With the High Court denying bail for actor Dileep for the second time it had become clear that the police got crucial evidence to prove his involvement in the case. What remained a mystery was how the officials managed to collect substantial evidence to convince the court against granting bail to the actor. 

Now the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has revealed the scientific methods they used for collecting evidence in the case, the main being stool pigeon and Reid technique, which is the most popular modern technique of interrogation. The police have mentioned about these in the case diary submitted before the court. 

Pulsar Suni had told police, from the beginning, that he plotted the attack to get money from the actress. Though he was arrested on February 23, police got information about conspiracy and quotation on March 8. However, assaulted actress and prime accused, Pulsar Suni, has said that it was 'Madam' who gave the quotation for the attack. 

Police decided to find evidence from the statements of the accused, and for this, they first broke the trust of Pulsar Suni that those who were outside will protect him. Meanwhile, the officials also used jail inmates to become friends with Suni and get details from him. Such persons used to mislead and gain information from others are called as the stool pigeon. 

The officials recorded the conversation between Suni and his jail inmates, and it proved crucial for the SIT. 

Another scientific method used by police was to create a good rapport with the accused and to make him reveal the truth during friendly conversations. It was during such questionings that Suni and other persons involved in the case revealed details of actress attack. 

It was these methods that made Suni confident enough to write a letter to Dileep and to make calls to Nadirshah and Appunni. Based on these pieces of evidence, court
