Congress leader and former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has lashed out at the LDF government and the solar commission report, which was tabled by CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the state Assembly on Thursday.

Speaking to mediapersons in Thiruvananthapuram, Chandy said the whole incident was a "political revenge" of Pinarayi and the CPM-led government and wondered if it was solar scam report or "Saritha report".

The commission stated that the then "chief minister, Oommen Chandy and through him his personal staff - Tenny Joppan, Jikkumon Jacob, gunman Salimraj and (Thomas) Kuruvilla, his aide in Delhi, all had assisted Team solar accused Saritha S Nair and her company in enabling them to cheat their customers."

Reacting to the report, Chandy said if there was even an iota of truth in the findings, he was prepared to end his public life. "The commission went (about) in a very legally wrong way without taking into account general norms of the commission of enquiries act," he said.

The veteran politician also alleged that the procedures followed by the LDF government, in connection with the filing a case after the solar report was made public, was not transparent.
