Latest reports reveal that online sex racket is thriving in Kerala. Several advertisements of escort service are being placed on online portals like Locanto on a daily basis.
The state police had busted a sex racket that was functioning from Aluva, last week. However, they have failed to take measures to control the operations through online portals.
Those operating through Locanto are mainly targeting students and women working in private organisations.

The classifieds website is being used by escort agencies in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode and advertisements appear under various headlines. Illegal activities are carried out in rented houses, hotels and lodges and massage parlours.
A complaint was lodged against the site in 2015 itself, and as many as 100 people were arrested by the police. However, police failed to curb the use of website owing to lack of facilities.
