Actor Mohanlal took the broom for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign on Monday, becoming part of the nationwide cleaning drive.
The veteran inaugurated a statewide cleanliness drive organised by the IMA, KGMOA and the Mohanlal fans association in Thiruvananthapuram on Gandhi Jayanti day.
Mohanlal took part in the cleaning drive at the Gandhi Bhavan and the government model school in Thycaud. The thespian pointed out that the cleanliness campaign needs to be carried forward.
PM Modi congratulated the effort taken by Mohanlal, through a tweet. "Excellent effort by noted actor @Mohanlal. #SwachhataHiSeva," read the tweet.
The PM had sent letters to both Mohanlal and Mammootty, seeking their support for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
