Beedi tycoon Mohammed Nisham, sentenced to life imprisonment in the Chandrabose murder case, has made threatening calls to his manager from jail, it has emerged.

In a complaint filed to the Thrissur police commissioner, King Spaces manager P Chandrasekharan has accused Nisham of threatening and abusing him over the phone. The complainant also submitted the audio clip of the phone call, along with the complaint.

King Spaces is a construction firm, owned by Nisham. The phone call to Chandrasekharan, which begins with discussing business, reportedly ends in death threats and cuss words.

Even if the call was made from the prison phone, Nisham issuing death threats to the caller shows laxity from the jail authorities as the law states that an inmate can make phone calls only in the presence of jail officials.

Back in October, Nisham had threatened his siblings by making phone calls from jail. The businessman had rammed security guard Chandrabose with his Hummer on 29 January 2015, over a delay in opening the main gate.
