Man killed, 2 injured in accident at TTPL plant in Thiruvananthapuram

The deceased has been identified as Kannur native Hareendran, 51, who has been working at the TTPL plant since 1996 Though Hareendran was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, doctors declared him brought dead  Sarosh, 28, suffered injuries and has been admitted to the intensive care unit, while another employee was also hurt

A man was killed and two others injured after a tank collapsed at the state-run Travancore Titanium Products Limited's (TTPL) acid neutralisation plant near Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Kannur native Hareendran, 51, who has been working at the factory since 1996, the police said. Though Hareendran was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, doctors declared him brought dead. 

Employee, Sarosh, 28, suffered injuries and has been admitted to the Medical College's intensive care unit, while another employee was also hurt in the accident.

The mishap happened at around 8.30 am the neutralisation plant which was newly constructed at Kochuveli. The police said an investigation was on to ascertain whether it was a case of negligence.

TTPL is the leading manufacturer of anatase grade titanium dioxide in the state capital.
