The Kerala lottery department announced the results of the popular Onam Bumper 2017 lottery in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. 

The first prize, with a whopping amount of Rs 10 crore, goes to the ticket bearing the serial number AJ442876. The lucky draw was held, with tourism and co-operation minister Kadakampally Surendran as the chief guest.

The state government has earned a profit of Rs 59 crore through the sale of Onam Bumper lottery tickets this year. The government received Rs 145 crore by selling 65 lakh tickets, while Rs 86 has gone on prize money and promotions.

Rs 10 crore is the highest ever amount given as prize money to a single ticket in Kerala lottery department's history. Each ticket of the 2017 Onam Bumper lottery cost Rs 250.
