Kozhikode: Jaundice patient falls to death from hospital balcony

A youth fell to his death from the fifth floor of the hospital he was admitted to in Kozhikode on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Jaleesh, 28, son of late Poomakkoth Abdul Latheef and Rasiya, according to a  report in The Hindu.

The incident happened around 11.30 am on Sunday at a private hospital on Mavoor Road. Jaleesh was undergoing treatment at the hospital for jaundice and was set to be discharged later in the day.

It is understood that Jaleesh moved to the balcony when the hospital staff came to clean his room on the fifth floor. He reportedly slipped and fell to his death from the balcony.

The youth's body was handed over to his family after post-mortem.
