Kerala auto driver hacks woman to death, commits suicide

In a shocking incident, a man from Kottayam committed suicide after brutally murdering a woman from his neighbourhood on Tuesday.

The female victim has been identified as Kunjumol Mathew, 44, a native of Koovellurkunnu Colony in Kadaplamattom. She was found hacked to death at her residence, according to reports.

Saji Munjannattu, 42, an auto driver from the area who is suspected to have killed Kunjumol, was later found dead at a rubber plantation. He drank an acid-like substance to end his life.

Kunjumol, who was wife to Mathew Arackalkunnel, worked at a cooperative bank nearby. The reason for the murder is not known yet.

The police arrived at the spot for an inquest. The two bodies have now been shifted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
