Court permits police to present Dileep through video conferencing

Synopsis

Dileep's remand period gets over on Tuesday and the police were expected to present him before the magistrate in person  However, the police informed the magistrate that there is security threat when Dileep is taken from the Aluva sub-jail to the Angamaly court The court has given the green light to the police's request of presenting Dileep through video conferencing

The Angamaly first class judicial magistrate court has given relaxation in presenting Dileep before the judge in person and the green light to the police's request of video conferencing.

Dileep's remand period gets over on Tuesday and the police were expected to present him before the magistrate in person as per legal procedure.

However, the police informed the magistrate that there is security threat when Dileep is taken from the Aluva sub-jail to the Angamaly court, and requested permission to present the actor through video conferencing instead.

Dileep unlikely to approach Supreme Court soon?

The police stated that whenever the actor was presented at the court before, there has been threat to the security as hundreds thronged the jail and court premises. Also several vehicles, including media, followed the police van from Aluva to Angamaly and back.

And if Dileep is not presented before the magistrate in person on Wednesday and his judicial custody likely to be extended, it begs the question if the actor will see daylight any time soon.

However, some reports say that the actor would be presented at the court in person on Tuesday if the police fail to set up video conferencing facility at the Aluva sub-jail in the next few hours.

Dileep was arrested on July 10 on charges of conspiracy in the case and was remanded to a 14-day judicial custody. The Kerala High Court denied his bail plea on Monday.
