Palakkad youth, who joined Al Qaeda, killed in US attack in Syria

A Kerala youth, who was suspected to have joined Al Qaeda, was killed in a US attack in Syria, reports claimed on Sunday.

Palakkad native Abu Tahir went missing in 2013 after he had gone to Mecca for Umrah. He later posted a message on Facebook, claiming he had joined Al Qaeda.

And now, one of his relatives in Sharjah got a message saying Abu Tahir was killed in Syria on April 4.

Kerala IS recruit killed in Afghanistan 

Another Palakkad youth, who had allegedly joined the Islamic State, has reportedly been killed in Afghanistan. Yahiya alias Bastian Vincent was killed in an air strike conducted by the US in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province. 

Yahiya and his wife were among around 20 Keralites who had left the country allegedly to join the ISIS last year. Earlier in February, another youth from the same group was killed in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
