Kerala students killed in road accident were on the way to attend convocation ceremony

  • An eye-witness said that the overspeeding car rammed into the lorry after hitting the divider
  • All of them were friends from school days and had studied in the Emirates before returning to Kerala

The Kerala students, who died in a road accident on Friday were on the way the way to attend the convocation ceremony of two among them. The students were killed after the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck on Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway.

The truck driver fled the scene, and an eye-witness said that the overspeeding car rammed into the lorry after hitting the divider. All of them were friends from school days and had studied in the Emirates before returning to Kerala for chasing their dreams.

They were on the way to attend the convocation ceremony of Jeena Eldho and Rebecca Thomas who were pursuing BBA at Vellore Institute of Technology.

Joel Jacob, who was driving the car at the time of the accident was the second year MBBS student at Rajarajeswari Medical College, Bengaluru while Nikhith P Sudeep was pursuing BCom at Bharath Matha College, Kakkanad.
