Amid speculation about his political entry, popular actor Kamal Haasan met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Cliff House in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
Pinarayi, in a Facebook post after the meeting, revealed that they have known each other for long and meet whenever the actor visits the state capital. The Kerala CM also pointed out that they discussed the political situation in Tamil Nadu and other south Indian states, among other things.
"We meet whenever he comes to Thiruvananthapuram. But today's meeting was the first one after I became Chief Minister. Even though the visit was personal in nature, we discussed south Indian politics and also the overall political situation in Tamil Nadu," read Pinarayi's FB post.
Kamal, on the other hand, said that he found the meeting as an opportunity to learn the current state of affairs from the veteran CPM leader. Also present at the meeting were Pinarayi's wife Kamala and other family members.
"I wanted to come to Kerala last year but couldn't. I see this as an opportunity to learn from someone who is as experienced as Pinarayi Vijayan," Kamal said after the meeting
Kamal has been throwing hints at a political entry for some time now. In recent times, he made comments critical of AIADMK, Tamil Nadu's ruling party, accusing them of corruption.
